Using Entourage

  1. I am encountering problems with rules in Entourage. What can I do?

    Rules that move or copy messages to specific folders may stop working after your mailbox is moved to Exchange 2003. You may see error messages like this:



    and/or this:

    To correct the problem, you must edit the affected rule(s) and re-select the destination folder(s).

    For each rule:

    1. Click the Edit rule button in the error message dialog box, if you see it, and skip to step 7. If you do not see this button, continue to step 2.
    2. Click the main Entourage window to activate it (i.e., bring it to the front).
    3. Choose Rules from the Tools menu.
    4. Click the Mail (Exchange) button.
    5. Click the rule you want to edit to select it.


    6. Click the Edit button.


    7. Select Choose folder from the pop-up menu next to Move message (or Copy message).
    8. Click the destination folder.


    9. Click Choose.
    10. Click OK.
    11. Close the Rules window.

    For each mailing list rule:

    1. Click the main Entourage window to activate it (i.e., bring it to the front).
    2. Choose Mailing List Manager from the Tools menu.
    3. Click the rule you want to edit to select it.

    4. Click the Edit button.


    5. Select Choose folder from the pop-up menu next to Move message to folder.
    6. Click the destination folder.


    7. Click Choose.
    8. Click OK.
    9. Close the Mailing List Manager window.

  2. I started Entourage for the first time and all my email disappeared. What can I do?
    The first time that Entourage is run, everything in the Inbox may be marked as junk mail and moved to the Junk E-mail folder. To fix this, open the Junk E-mail folder, Select All the messages, then click "Not Junk" on the toolbar above.
